WHEN SHADOWS FALL


Two photos taken as the sun disappears behind the hill. We notice the days are getting shorter.

I was noticing the shorter days here in Seattle, too. It's hot this week--we're hitting 90 degrees. Probably cool in comparison but I'm still melting!

I like your pretty pictures! The hollyhock is exceptionally beautiful...

Two zucchini plants here in town are bearing this year -- the first year I've had any produce. At this time of year I always think, "Well, if it doesn't frost, this could go on for a while." and that's true to some extent, but the other factor is the shorter days. I've been experimenting with some different zucchini bread recipes using brown sugar, but of course, with the hot days I seldom bake and if I do, it's usually early in the morning. KW
