It
was hot when we left. Here Bess stretches out in the park in Caldwell. “No walk
for me,” she said as Mike and Nellie left to explore.
We were glad of the opportunity to visit with our grandsons.
We
spent the afternoon of the Fourth lounging on the Payette River. Little Bess swims
instinctively but doesn’t seem to like the water as well as Nellie does. She had a sobering
experience when she got carried beyond herself and followed Nellie into the
river. She preferred to “chill out” in some bushes at the river’s edge while
Nellie chased sticks in the water.
Having
received her early socialization through two little boys, Bess immediately
recognized playmates in the two little boys in this home (2 1/2 and 7). They had great romps
that were such fun to watch, but they didn’t hold still for pictures.
On the evening of the Fourth, we climbed through an upstairs window and watched various Treasure Valley fireworks displays from the roof. KW

Looks like you had a wonderful time! And you actually climbed out a window and sat on the roof?? I'm impressed.
Precious pictures of the boys! They sure are growing.
Sounds good, doesn't it? Kasey put a pillow out that single window on the right side and invited me to sit with her. I never was an agile person, but now I'm awkward. I don't think I was out there more than ten minutes. Couldn't stand to see the guys on the other side of the roof.
Oh, I know just what you mean about not standing to see the guys on the other side. I can't handle seeing someone up high either. At least someone I care about! But it did make a good story! :-)
Looks like they live in a nice place. That Bess is a real comedian!
Our news: We got our garden plot at the P-patch today. We spent 4-5 hours clearing it and spreading compost on top. We're eating dinner and then headed out for the last hour of daylight to plant some seeds.
Bess thinks she's in charge of her destiny. We'll see . . . Nellie has a sweet nature and tends to defer to other dogs, even in the field. Bess is much more assertive.
Yes, the house is nice, and Kasey has done a great job of making it homey. I think she likes to decorate and to cook.
Ha ha. I do love to decorate and cook. How could you tell? Lol. The boys wanted to see you both again when they returned. They really enjoyed yours and the dogs company. I'm glad you decided to fight your urge to stay inside. It was a great view of the fireworks shows all over the valley-Middleton, Nampa, Caldwell, Meridian, Eagle, and Boise. And you were out there for at least 20 minutes! Thanks for the great memories :)
Our visit to see Kasey and Milo will be one highlight of our 2013 summer.
Watching those young 'uns playing together was really fun.
