Here are some photos of our modular home after the spring cleaning I did last week. In the photo to the left you can see my shelf dolls. I’ve had them since early childhood, which means they show some light and dust damage. They probably have some value -- not as much as if they had been kept in pristine condition in their boxes. I displayed them with some teacups.

It looks like April showers are a bit early at your house. They're early here too: 5 months early, for 5 months straight. But then we have 7 months of May flowers so it's okay. :)
What kind of cookies? Did you make/frost them yourself?
Yes, there was a shower that morning. We could use more showers, I think. Those were ginger cookies -- a recipe from the Betty Crocker magazine. I thought they were good so I'll probably use it again. The frosting was interesting -- the base was unflavored gelatin. Most of my cookie cutters are on the farm. I had to buy an egg-shaped cutter. I also used a lamb and a shamrock. XO
If you ever need to borrow cookie cutters, I have tons as I collect them!!!
Wow! Where do you go to collect the cookie cutters? Do you display them?
I have always thought I would like to collect cookies cutters. I suppose I have enough of them to constitute a collection. I love to look at them and have considered a kitchen display. Deb, what's your criteria? Do you like them new or old, plastic or metal? Are there certain shapes you prefer? How much will you pay for one? I got the egg shape at Albertson's. It's a Wilton -- plastic -- but easy to use. KW
I tell you one thing I know about cookie cutters, I like the ones that are open and you can just push the cookie out. I like the IDEA of the closed ones that stamp a fun design, but then I can't get them out of there!
I have some of both plastic and metal but prefer the metal that are open on both sides if you are actually gonna use them for coookie making. Some of my favorite are the old fashioned metal that have a wooden handle. I also like some that my mom had while I was growing up that were made by Ecko (I think) and also one that is a six sided ball shape that belonged to my great grand mother.
Since those newer "open on both ends" metal ones are cheap, I've never paid more than MAYBE $2 if it was a large one. It's also been a while since I've bought any. I get a few from time to time as gifts. Best place to buy them is Tri State in Moscow if they still sell them.
My favorite are the tiny ones and I also have several sets of really tiny ones that come in tins and are themed.
I have no way (or space) to display them so they reside in gallon ice cream pails in my small make shift pantry. I think I have 4pails full!
I'll admit my favortie shape is a heart and I have many styles and sizes of those.
