PORCH ART

We're officially a century farm -- and now the sign is posted on the house. At presentation we were told the sign would last a hundred years if protected from the elements.

Mike affixed the sign to a wooden frame, which he made from a piece of rough wood he found in the barn.

Then he stained it to match the woodwork on the house. Not centered, you say? That's where the stud is.

Now it's porch art! KW

I probably wouldn't have noticed it being off center. I like it!

Hallie's right. My son often reminds me that the things I think others might notice are not on their radar.

Nice work Mike.

I so appreciated your coming, Dr. Molly. (Molly and I met on "Modern Retro Woman" but had not met in person until she came to the century farm celebration.) I'm just sorry not to have had the opportunity to connect more fully with the guests and to connect individuals of like interests. The bird guy, the tree guy, the quilters and knitters, the geologist, the '30's people, the '40's people -- I could have learned a lot. Come back!!!

Congratulations on the posting of the sign. May it ever reign on your humble abode. Glad I could be there for the ceremony.
