I had no idea there were such things as April Fool's Day cards! And from that long ago. Dan's grandfather was born on April l, but Grampy was pretty no nonsense and I don't think it bothered him. I just read a story about a lady who was born on on April l and she said she's sick and tired of people playing tricks on her for her birthday and then shouting April Fools. I never thought of that.

It's interesting, isn't it, that these notable days were celebrated so long ago? My parents had postcards for St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and April Fool's Day. "Don't let the kids steal your eggs," was written on the back of an Easter card.

In my quiet world, we don't play tricks on April Fool's Day, and that's a good thing. But I have a friend who has a birthday on Halloween, and I commented that I would love that, but she said she was tired of being called a witch. I make it a point to send her a happy message on Halloween.
